I made two videos on how to restore e65/e66 headlights. The ones that were on my 05 745li were rough when I got it and the car was having intermittent Halo light issues. This is a somewhat common issue and I see a lot of guys posting and asking where the fuse is for these lights. Like the other lights in the car there is no fuse, the lights are controlled by the LCM (Lighting Control Module). The wire insulation gets brittle (from heat) and flakes off the wires causing shorts and issues, the LCM shuts down a circuit when it detects and issue and notifies the driver that the bulb is out. So if you have issues with Halo’s sometimes coming on and other times not or you go through the Halo bulbs fast this is most likely your issue.

Like many guys I started looking for solutions for better looking headlights. New ones can still be found but they will run $1300-$1600 per side. Honestly not a horrible price considering their materials and features. However I don’t have $3200 just to spend on headlights. There are no after market options, not surprising considering the proprietary controls and expense of materials not to mention there are only so many 7 series so it would be a small niche market. You could get a used but they can run around $500-1000 for a pair and you could end up in the same boat with issues and flaking insulation.

In my videos I walk through everything I did to refurbish a set. I am open to doing it for others for $800+$100 deposit to send me your lights once I send you a set. It would take me 1-4 weeks to produce a pair depending on schedule once ordered. It does take a good amount of time to refurbish these lights. If I get a lot of interest I will get an extra set to refurbish for stock. I can also do paint matching and other custom work to them while apart for an added cost.

I also changed all my bulbs for 5k color bulbs to color match them and also give a more modern look to them.

Here are my videos.  If you enjoy them and appreciate the time spent to help guys please stop by the Youtube pages and give the video a Thumbs up.
