It is a common issue with BMW’s in general the dreaded Guibo and carrier bearing. Over time the bushings wear and this will cause vibrations while driving especially under acceleration. You can also sometimes develop a clunk when you are breaking due to the excessive play.
There are several DIY videos on youtube on how to change the Guibo and Carrier bearing. I am sharing this one because it’s done well and shows you that its possible to do it yourself even with limited resources.
